Margaret Conner Messer (my ever-young sister)

Dad and Margaret are showing their work for the first time, and it is my honor to present them and their playful spirits, in person and caught on the page.

I’ll have new work too: creatures, paintings, and drawings. Also a few pieces of wearable art, both silk and cotton, and wall hangings.Coral Pointy Round Thing

I’m still at the:
Lowertown Lofts Artists Cooperative
Studio 502 (NEW STUDIO — 5th floor!)
255 Kellogg Boulevard East • Alley entrance – 1/2 block south of the Farmers Market on Wall St.

Come for the interesting, fun, and beautiful art!
Come for the demos and opportunities to draw!
Or just come for the hard candy.

I look forward to seeing you!

My Art Silks are for Sale in Eagan, December 3-9

Fun fact — silk is four times warmer than wool, yet breathes in summer heat.

Now, just in time for a Minnesota big chill, I’ve got new silk art scarves for sale at the Aslan Craft Bazaar.

It runs today, Saturday through Friday, December 3-9, 9 AM to 4 PM.

Come glide your finger over one-of-a-kind, shimmering silk scarves, handkerchiefs, hangable art, and reusable gift bags. Bask in the glow of complex batik, shibori, and drop-dead gorgeous colors.

These really are the perfect gifts for everyone – including you!

I’ll be there Saturday and Sunday — stop by for a visit. Still not convinced? There’ll be snacks!

The Aslan Institute is a really cool place, just south of the Mall of America. For directions, click here.

Thank you, Art Crawlers!

The Fall 2011 Art Crawl was a complete success. I had fun, met more new people than I can keep track of, and several of my pieces found new homes. Thanks to everyone who stopped by, including family and friends.

“Saint Rat” was the first piece I sold. One of my favorite silly pieces. 🙂

St. Paul Art Crawl or Bust!

Hand-dyed silks by Serena Mira Asta.

I commited to participating in the Fall 2011 Saint Paul Art Crawl! Submitted my name and a photo for the catalog and everything. I’m planning on creating lots of fiber art. Silks scarves, wraps, cotton blankets, luxury fiber to knit and spin. And lots of other fun stuff. Come visit!
